Mendelssohn on Mull

Mendelssohn on Mull Festival is a Scottish chamber music festival founded in 1988. It takes place every year during the first week of July. The idea of this festival is very simple, "to bring a new generation of musicians into contact with seasoned professional mentors in relaxed and stunning surroundings, far from the treadmill and stresses of the professional music circuit".

Where is it ?

As every year, this year the Mendelssohn on Mull Festival will take place on the Isle of Mull, where you can explore idyllic and inspirational landscape.

When is it ?

It takes place every first week of July, every year. This year, you will be able to enjoy young musicians during 6 days from the 29th of June until the 4th of July.

What music?

During this festival, you can listen to chamber music, which is classical music composed for reduced musical groups.

Attractions

You may want to know what to do around Isle of Mull during this festival. I spent few days in this area and it was one of the best trip I've ever done. I will soon write an article about this trip, with some pictures. So, check out soon the Nearby attractions page.

How much does it cost ?

This festival presents many concerts across Mull, Iona and Oban, and all of them for free. I think it's an other good reason to go there, isn't it ?

However, it's possible to support the Mendelssohn on Mull festival. Indeed, you can become a Friend of the Festival which starts at just £25 or a festival guardian. That means that you can help to provide a unique opportunity for a group of young artists to benefit from the experience of playing together with world class professionals.
